48-98 Proposal

48-96 Work Schedule Proposal

An ad hoc committee comprised of members of Local 1014 has researched the benefits and feasibility of a 48-96 work schedule.

Under a 48-96 work schedule, each platoon works two separate but consecutive 24 hour shifts for a total of 48 hours, then has 96 hours off before repeating this pattern of two days on, four days off. This gives you the option to take 12, 24, 36 or 48 hours off using benefit time.

Many local, state and national departments have already switched to this more efficient schedule as a means of easing long and frequent commutes, providing additional “four-dayers” and weekends off, and increasing overall family time.
